The warren of underground streets of Mark King Close in ScotlandThe Mark King’s Close was a series of underground streets and tunnels in Edinburgh that led to several homes and business houses in the 16th and 17th centuries. When a plague broke out in 1645, the area was abandoned. Currently a part of the city tours, the Close has been in news for sightings of ghosts of an elderly lady, a woman in black, and young Annie. These paranormal sightings have made the Mark King’s Close one of the top haunted places in the world.
